My Most Anticipated Games of 2026
Lets chat about the games we can't wait for this year!
G’day Gamers,
I’ve seen so many Most anticipated games lists, so I thought i’d get in on the action. This list is subject to change as we receive new game announcements and updates on others.
Let’s get into it.
Resident Evil Requiem – February 27, 2026
RE9 kicks off the year, and Leon’s back. The early footage looks great, and I like that it seems to be splitting into two clear styles of gameplay that match the characters. Grace looks like she’ll carry the slower horror side, and Leon will bring the action. It’s just good to be back in Raccoon City.
Pokémon Pokopia – March 5, 2026
Pokémon meets cozy gaming. Anyone who knows me knows I’m a big fan of Pokémon and Stardew Valley, so this looks like a match made in heaven.
You play as a Ditto that looks human, building a community by using Pokémon moves to shape the land, like Bulbasaur’s Leafage to grow grass, and Lapras letting you surf across water. It’s a fresh direction for the franchise, and it being developed by Koei Tecmo instead of Game Freak makes it even more interesting.
GTA 6 – November 19, 2026
Has to be on every list. Even just the moment of launch is big enough to crack mine.
Marvel’s Wolverine – Fall 2026
I’m a fan of Insomniac’s Spider-Man games.
You can argue the best part of those games is just swinging through New York, because it’s the one thing that makes you feel like Spider-Man.
That’s why I’m really interested to see how Insomniac captures Wolverine’s essence. He’s brooding and aggressive, and I want the combat to feel the same way, up close, nasty, and violent.
Fable – 2026
I loved the original Fable games, so seeing Playground Games bring this back after sixteen years is great. Everything they’ve shown suggests the British humour is intact, and they’re building a bigger, more detailed Albion.
Bradley the Badger – 2026
I love weird, unique 3D platformer adventure games, and this one grabbed me straight away. It’s giving me Conker’s Bad Fur Day vibes with how shameless it is about parodying other games, but it still feels like a proper love letter to the medium.
Bradley gets lost in unfinished game worlds parodying Bloodborne, Cyberpunk, and The Last of Us, and you can manipulate assets like a developer, scaling objects, possessing items, reshaping geometry, and bending the level to your will.
Mixtape – 2026
I’m a sucker for coming-of-age themes, and the art style looks amazing. It follows three teenagers on their last night of high school, reliving memories through a curated mixtape. The soundtrack is the sound of generations gone, with DEVO, Smashing Pumpkins, Joy Division, and Iggy Pop.
Out of Words – 2026
A co-op platformer with handcrafted stop-motion visuals. Everything is physically crafted, clay environments, puppet characters, and in an industry obsessed with scale it’s good to see a team commit to something this tactile. I’ll be convincing my girlfriend to play this with me when it releases.
